Program Description

Together with RWTH Aachen University, the Werkzeugbau Akademie offers the first course of study explicitly tailored to the demands of the tool and die industry.

 

Degree Content

The master study course in tool making is built up modularly and can hence be accomplished extra occupational. The modules are set up on the basis of the industry specific categories technology, organization and personality development. Accomplishing the master study in tool making, the graduate receives a Master of Science Tool making (M. Sc. Tool making), an accredited degree of RWTH Aachen.

 

Prerequisites

Admission criteria is a university entrance diploma (B.Sc.) An accomplished Bachelor study course of RWTH Aachen and corresponding study courses, which are accepted by the responsible institution of the state, where the university is located, are accepted for participating in the program. It is possible that the examining board requires additional modules for participating in the program. The approval is carried out in two steps (application form and case study). The following admission criteria can be summarized:

  • University Entrance Diploma (B.Sc.)
  • two years of professional experience in the tool and die industry
  • excellent knowledge of German
 

Career Prospects

The Master study course in tool making qualifies its participants for an occupation in the field of tool making. The participants deepen their professional knowledge and gain higher career opportunities through learnt skills. Through mediated skills in such fields as Technology, Organization and Personal Development the participants will as well be qualified to work in interdisciplinary fields.

 

Examination Regulations

Exam regulations regulate academic goals, the course of study layout, and exam procedures. The appendix to the regulations contains the description of the modules, from which the course of study is composed.

The Master course of studies is offered by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
